Adoptable Pets in New Fairfield!

Because this is a Critter Issue, we wanted to profile some pets who are currently up for adoption at the New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society.  Do you have room in your heart or your home for these sweeties?  Check them out!  Contact the NFSAWS at 203-746-2925, or e-mail NFSAW@att.net for an application!

Razzle

Picture
Razzle is such a sweet girl! She is between 1-2 years old and just such a happy, friendly pup. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and everyone she meets. She loves to play but also knows how to be calm and cuddly. She has great ears that stand up so tall when she hears something. We just love this girl and we know she will make her new family very happy!

Swizzle

Picture
Meet Swizzle! She is an adorable, cuddly girl who is about 3-4 yeas old. She gets along well with everyone she meets and will make a purr-fect companion for a loving home. Please contact the New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society to find out more.

Shelter Trivia: Did You Know...?

Picture
... that black pets find it harder to be adopted than pets of other colors? (Why?  Because they're harder to photograph and victims of the "unlucky" color stereotype!)
... that most shelters and rescue groups offer free or discounted spay and neuters for adoptees, and their adoptables are up to date on vaccines?
...that between 5 and 7 million cats and dogs are "surrendered" or turned in to animal shelters each year - but between 3 and 4 million of those animals are euthanized (humanely killed) because they cannot find adoptive homes?

Teachers' Pets!

Normally, a "teacher's pet" is a student who gets favored treatment.  These lucky critters, however, are the REAL teachers' pets of New Fairfield Middle School!
